2006 SERPENT NATIONS CUP (05/07/2006)

The Serpent Nations Cup is an end of season team event in which Serpent drivers race for their country and the title of ‘Nations Cup’ Champions.  



2006 is the second running of the event that was last year won by Great Britain following a titanic battle with host nation Team Spain



Where - Lisbon, Portugal (Monsanto Circuit)



When - 14/15 October 2006



Who - The Serpent Nations Cup is organised by Serpent Motorsport and will cater for Serpent 1/8th scale cars.

SERPENT TAKES NORDIC WIN (05/07/2006)

The Nordic championship for 1:10 Track 200mm was organized in Oslo 1. and 2. of July 2006 at the Hvervenbukta track host of the 1:8 euros in 2003. 35 drivers enjoyed very good weather with temperatures around 25 degrees which proved for good traction and a lot of good racing.


Qualification on Saturday was mainly a task of getting it right in the first round in the morning. During the day temperature raised and traction / engines performed lower so only a few drivers managed to improve their times from the morning. Maybe it’s about time to discuss a points-by-round qualification scheme...

710 for the podium

BUMOD Track opened with a race on 4th July in Bursa Turkey. Altohugh it is a new track, cleaning of the track was so good that there was not a great problem on traction.

1/8, 1/10 and 1/5 scales raced in the same they. Due to new software and lack of prework for the race, there were some troubles for racers. However, since it is an opening race and everybody was there for fun problems resolved within the day.

UK SERPENT NITRO TOUR RESULTS (05/07/2006)

The latest leg of the Serpent Nitro Tour travelled to the UK over the weekend with 59 drivers joining in the fun at Halifax.



Superb weather greeted competitors for the Elite RC organised event which saw 40 race run on the Sunday with a total of 4,703 race laps being completed.

ALL SERPENT PODIUM AT THIRD SWISS NATIONALS ENCOUNTER (04/07/2006)

In the third round of the Swiss National 1/10th 200mm National Championships over the weekend Serpent enjoyed a clean sweep of the podium with Traugott jr. Schär winning ahead of fellow Serpent 710 drivers Fabien Fragnière and Charly Krebs.



Setting a TQ time of 13 laps in 05:02.614 with his MEGA powered 710 to line up on pole for the final, Traugott was able to convert his qualifying pace into a superb race victory.



Leading the standings, Traugott will miss the next round of the championship as he travels to Sweden for the 1/8 Euros to mechanic for Markus Geisendorf.

NEW 720 KITS COME OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE (04/07/2006)

The first of Serpent's new 720 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring Cars kits came off the production line today (Tuesday) at the Serpent factory in The Netherlands.




Already a winner of the US Nationals and EFRA Dutch GP, the new car will start shipping this week to customers around the world.   With demand for the Rene Cornella designed car very high, staff at the Serpent factory are very busy preparing kits for shipping between 14th and 20th of July.




Kits should be available from RC shops before end of July.

Kandlhart on the top of the podium for a second time

KANDLHART WINS AUSTRIAN 1/10 NATIONAL AT ASPERN (28/06/2006)

In the third round of the Austrian 1/10th National Championships, held over the weekend at Aspern near Vienna, Team driver Gerhard Kandlhart once again steered his 710 to victory. The winner of the previous round at Nußdorfring, a very wet encounter, the former European 235mm Champion was again the pace setter at Aspern where competitors were greeted by 30°C plus temperatures.



Starting the 30 minute final from pole, Kandlhart completed 91 laps to win by a margin of 7 seconds from Hubert Hönigl. Also in the final for Team Serpent was Daniel Tomaschko who had qualified P2 and looked set to...

Chief designer of the 720 Rene Cornella will race Serpent's new 1/10th challenger in the DTM event

720 TO MAKE ASIAN DEBUT AT DALTON TOURING MASTER EVENT (27/06/2006)

Serpent's new 720 will make its Asian debut on July 8-9 when three cars take part in the Dalton Touring Master in Indonesia.



The event which takes place at Jakarta International Twin Circuit, will see Serpent's new 1/10th challenger driven by the cars chief designer Rene Cornella from Austria, Swedish Team Serpent driver Per Ola Hard and Asian Team Serpent driver Suruth Vataniyapramote. All three drivers will also provide tech support to competitors throughout the event.



Restricted to 90 drivers the event is a major date on the Indonesian race calendar and is open to both 1/10 200mm...

The Belgian 1/10 235mm final gets under way at Bierset

THREE IN A ROW FOR VAN ECHELPOEL IN BELGIAN SERIES (27/06/2006)

Bart Van Echelpoel continued his domination of the Belgian 1/10 235mm Serpent Series over the weekend when he took his third vctory of the season in the third round at Bierset.



Setting TQ in the first round of heats, Van Echelpoel set the pace all weekend and had little trouble converting his pole position into victory. His strongest challenge came from Luc Steylaerts who he now leads in the standings by 6 points. Setting the fastest lap of the race, Leo Heremans completed the podium claiming his first top 3 finish of the Series.
