
Over the weekend Serpent's F180 met up with full size racing in the form of an A1 Grand Prix car as our New Zealand distributor Zoom brought the two together at an A1 Team New Zealand PR event.
Kiwi A1 Grand Prix driver Johnny Reid was very interested in the 1:8 scale formula r/c car and took time out from signing autographs to examine the car and later signed the body of the F180.

Last weekend saw a return to winning form for Tim Wood in the fifth Round of the BRCA 1:8 British National Championship at Halifax. The first win of the season for Wood, the victory was the fifth straight win for Serpent's 960 in the championship for which the Michael Salven penned car is the defending champion.
All racers had the opportunity of a dry run in qualifying but it was Wood who set TQ driving
his Mega MF powered Serpent 960.

Serpent Driver Development team member Oscar Cabezas was in action in the latest 1:10 Spanish Nationals encounter at the Madrid track over the weekend where the young charger TQ'd and finished on the podium.
The reigning 1:8 National Champion, Oscar was using the event as preparation for the upcoming EFRA European 1:10 Championships which will be hosted by the Madrid track.

Markus Mobers was in action in the 3rd qualifier event for German 1:10 200mm Nationals at Megadrom recently where the Serpent driver TQ'd his 720 for the second event in a row. A member of Team Serpent Germany, Mobers sent us this report from the event -

The final North Region qualifing race for the German Nationals took place last weekend at Tuttendorf and it was an all Serpent affair in 1:10.
Ralf Krause TQ'd his Serpent 720/Mega MF combination ahead of team-mate Andreas Giesa with Guttschau making it a Serpent 1,2, 3 in at the top of the time sheets.
In the Final, which saw no less than six 720's line up on the grid, Krause and Giesa enjoyed a superb battle for 1st before Krause lost 2nd gear allowing Giesa to storm home for the win. A great drive by Guttschau to second ensured a podium double for Serpent. Despite loosing 2nd gear Krause...

For our latest 'Racer in the Spotlight' we caught up with German driver Philip Eberle. One of the young stars to emerge from the 2007 European 1:8 B Championships in Slovenia here is his response to our questions.

The second round of the Austrian National Championships took place at the Kematen track near near Innsbruck over the weekend and it was Serpent 960 team driver Daniel Tomaschko who took top honours.
The event, which attracted a very strong entry, also saw good results for Team Serpent in the two 1:10 classes. In the Top Class, with five Serpent 720s in the Main Final, Gerhard Kandelhart steered his example to second.

Team Serpent Brazil were in top form for the State of São Paulo Championships over the weekend securing victories in both 1:8 and 1:10 classes.
Racing at the Indaiatuba track, Renato Paiva TQ'd both his 960 and 720 for the event. Converting his 1:8 pole into victory he was joined on the podium by Marcio Salvagno who finished third with his 960. In 1:10 Paiva had to give way to teammate Ricardo Perez who steered his Mega powered 720 to the win.

Serpent enjoyed an all 960 podium line-up at the latest round of the Irish National Championship at the St.Annes track on Sunday when Clive Connolly led home a trio of Serpent drivers.
Having TQ'd for the event, the reigning Champion controlled the race from the front to win ahead of young charger Sean Doyle and Championship leader Darragh Fox.

Serpent secured back to back victories in the Cyprus 1:10 National Championships over the weekend when Nicholas Zachariades steered his Mega ZX powered 720 to first place in the A Final at the Daytona RC circuit.
