
This weekend Sweden will host the 4th of this years EFRA 1/8th Grand Prix events at the Staffanstorps circuit near Malmö. Attracting 48 drivers representing 8 different countries, the GP includes a strong line-up from Team Serpent who are using the event to prepare for next month's European Championships at the track.

Gerhard Kandelhart produced a superb double victory for Serpent in the latest round of the Austrian National Championships at Nußdorfring near Salzburg on Sunday. The event attracted over 50 drivers.
The former European 235mm Champion overcame very wet conditions to steer his 960 to victory in the 1/8 final and then he repeated the feat with his 710 in 1/10 class after team mate Daniel Tomaschko suffered gearbox trouble while leading.

The Austrian Serpent Series travelled to the Czech Republic over the weekend for its second round and the Action Line promoted event attracted 26 drivers from four different countries.
In the 1:10th 235mm race it was business as usual for Romanian driver Christian Faur who took his second win of the 2006 Series. Runner up was Hungary's Zsolt Horvath with Wolfgang Schier of Austria completing the podium.
After a disappointing opening round at Kirchberg in Austria, 2005 Vice Champion Christian Schiff got his title hopes back on track with victory in the 1/8 class at Brno. The result moves...

Nicholas Zachariades claimed his first Serpent Series victory over the weekend when he won the fifth round of Cyprus Series at the Modelsport circuit.
Zachariades beat George Eleftheriou who was enjoyng his first podium finish of the series. Completing the podium was standings leader Spyros Charalambous who now holds a slender one point advatage over Zachariades.
Organised by Modelsport, the 10 round Cyprus Series now takes a one month break before resuming on July 9.

Over the weekend Serpent Motorsport was at the full size Pinksterraces at the international Circuit Park Zandvoort in Holland to demonstrate r/c racing to fullsize race fans and the event proved a big hit.

This year there are three national races in Sweden, two nationals and one seperate Swedish Championships race (held in mid July). The past weekend we had the first of the two nationals at the Waxjo MS club track, a very nice track that is the home track of me and Serpent team driver Mikael Fransson. A little less drivers than expected entered the race, but competition is strong and almost all the best drivers in the both classes joined......

Serpent has been invited to demonstrate the sport of r/c racing this weekend at the full size Circuit Park Zandvoort as part of the Pinksterraces which take place on Saturday and Monday.
The international Dutch race circuit, most famous for its Formula 3 Masters event, has allocated space in the main paddock for Serpent to show motorsport fans what nitro powered r/c racing is all about.
Serpent has invited a selection of top Dutch drivers and with the assistance of the MACH Club from Heemstede will construct a temporary race circuit for the weekend.
