Tomaschko and Scheidl with their Mega powered 720s

TOMASCHKO WINS ANNUAL 'INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP RACE' (27/09/2006)

Austrian driver Daniel Tomaschko added the 'International Friendship Race' to his list of 2006 achievements over the weekend in Germany.

Held at the very fast Rosenheim circuit, the annual event attracted 52 entries from Germany, Austria, Italy and Liechtenstein.

Driving his Mega ZX12 DSII powered 720, Tomaschko secured pole from local ace Christoph Pietsch with fellow Serpent drivers Sebastian Feller and Christian Scheidl making up row 2 of the grid.

720 WINS JAPANESE NATIONALS IN HANDS OF YOUNG GUNS (27/09/2006)

Serpent's 720 is the 2006 JMRCA 1/10 GP Touring Sportsman Class Champion.  Thanks to the talented driving efforts of young guns Shinnosuke Yokoyama and Takehiro Terauchi the car TQ'd and won the annual event.




14-year-old Terauchi secured pole with fellow 720 racer Yokoyama lining up alongside him on the front row of the grid.

TEAM GB AIM TO DEFEND NATIONS CUP TITLE (27/09/2006)

Team Great Britain has revealed the line for its team that will travel to Lisbon in Portugal to defend the Serpent Nations Cup title won last year in Valencia after a titanic battle with host nations Spain.



Heading the strong line up will be Richard Hicklin, Jason Frost, Chris Edwards who were all members of the 2005 winning team. The will be joined by newly crowned BRCA 1:8 Junior Champion Ian Campbell who will be keen to play his part in the team title defence. While the Team GB line-up has to make them favourites to win they will however be missing one of the biggest assets this year...

Christoffer Hallborg was dominant with his 720

720 DOMINATES IN SWEDEN (27/09/2006)

The final round of the Swedish Nitro Series took place over the weekend at the challenging Skövde MK track and in the 1:10 class it was very much a Serpent 720 affair.


Swedish Team Serpent driver Christoffer Hallborg used his example to secure the TQ position and head home a 720 1, 2 finish in the top final. A total of four Serpents occupied the top 5 placings.


In the 1:8 class, Hallborg just missed out on a complete domination of the event finishing in second with his 960. Again Serpent occupied four of the Top 5 placings.

The 960 TQ'd for the Italian EFRA GP

SERPENT 960 and 720 TQ FOR ITALIAN EFRA GP (26/09/2006)

Serpent's 960 and 720 took qualifying for the Italian EFRA Grand Prix over the weekend by storm securing TQ position in both the 1:8 and 1:10 classes.



In 1:8 qualifying at the Fiorano circuit current European B Champion Andrea Cristiani once again showed himself to be a star of the future by pipping current World Champion Lamberto Collari to the TQ position with another sporting legend Alberto Picco setting the third fastest time.



In the 45 minute Final, Cristiani lead the field until he was given a 10 second penalty handing the race to Collari. At the end the margin between Collari...

SERPENT DOMINATE FINAL BRCA 1:10 ENCOUNTER (26/09/2006)

Serpent dominated the final round of the BRCA National 1:10 Championships in Cotswold over the weekend.




In the 1:10 200mm class, the 720s of Joe Kerry and Mark Christopher took the early lead in damp qualifying. For the third heat the sun appeared and Chris Slater made the most of the dry track to TQ his 720.




Making the most of his P1 starting position Chris took the win leading for almost all of the 30 minute final with Mega MF powered Serpent. Only European Championship podium finisher Darren Johnson briefly headed the Team Elite R/C driver's as he made his final pit stop.

JUHASZ AND TAKACS ARE HUNGARIAN SERIES CHAMPIONS (26/09/2006)

The final round of the 2006 Hungarian Serpent Series took place recently at Pecs and two new champions were crowned.



In the 1:8 Series Viktor Juhász took his second win of the season to clinch the title by just a single point from main title rival Gergo Timár who also has two wins to his credit.



In the 1:10 Series it was business as usual for Péter Takács as he secured his sixth straight win of the Series to claim the title in dominant fashion.

Fiorano hosts the Italian EFRA GP this weekend

ITALIAN EFRA GP (20/09/2006)

This weekend Fiorano plays hosts to Italian EFRA Grand Prix for both 1:10 and 1:8 IC.


The sixth EFRA GP of the season, Serpent Motorsport will be represented in the event by current European 1:8 Champion Fabio Domanin, Euro 1:8 'B' Champion Andrea Cristiani and Massimo Fantini.


Situated near Bologna, the track is named after Ferrari legend Jody Scheckter and it is not uncommon for Ferrari F1 cars to be heard testing at their official test track which is situated very near the r/c venue.

Richard Hicklin took his 960 to victory at Mendip

HICKLIN TAKES MENDIP WIN - TITLE GOES TO THE WIRE (20/09/2006)

Richard Hicklin took Serpent's fourth BRCA Championship race victory of the season over the weekend when he won the penultimate round at Mendip.



Starting from fourth on the grid, Hicklin steered his Mega powered Serpent 960 to a 1 lap victory over Dave Dixon and now lies second in the standings behind team-mate Tim Wood who endured a tough weekend.



Also in the A final driving Serpent's 960 were Gareth Bell, winner of the previous round at Halifax, Glyn Beal and John Carr.

TRATNIK AND KNEHTL CROWNED SLOVENIAN SERIES CHAMPIONS (20/09/2006)

The Slovenian Serpent Series reached its climax over the weekend with Izidor Tratnik and Vladimir Knehtl claiming the 1:8 and 1:10 titles respectively.


Held at the Tomlin circuit, the event took place in less than ideal weather conditions with heavy raining forcing the cancellation of the Serpent Tech day on Saturday.


With Vladimir Knehtl having little to do to sew up the 1:10th Series title all attention was on the four way battle for the 1:8 Series honours.
